Shangri-La Springs hosts “Music Under the Stars” April 6, benefiting Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships
Shangri-La Springs will host “Music Under the Stars” on Friday, April 6 from 6 to 9 p.m., benefiting Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships (HTAP). Free for the public to attend, the evening will feature live music, artwork from HTAP’s ARTREACH participants and an organic dinner. Donations made throughout the evening will support HTAP’s efforts to raise awareness of human trafficking in Southwest Florida and throughout the nation.
The event will feature live music from local cover band, Silver Sneakers, near a dance floor in the courtyard, where guests can dance the night away under the property’s majestic Mysore Fig tree. In addition, guests can view insightful works of art that shed light on the world of human trafficking through the eyes of school-aged students. Participants of the ARTREACH program are taught the dangers of human trafficking and how art can be used to raise awareness, allowing the students to become peer spokespersons through their artwork.
Guests can purchase organic beer and wine in the Great House, as well as enjoy an organic dinner prepared by local catering company, Artichoke & Company. To make a reservation for the dinner, please call 239-949-0749.
HTAP was founded in 2006 and provides resources to aid in the fight against human trafficking. Since its inception, the organization has provided services, trainings and programs to thousands of people and hundreds of organizations, including youth courses, ARTREACH, and adult courses that educate professionals to recognize possible victims.
